Some of it's old, some of it's new.
Some of it is from other countries, and some of it is from the backyard.
It's a work in progress, but I love looking around our home and loving what I see.
Kitchen
My dad made the shelf out of a tree that used to be just out of my bedroom window when I was a little girl. I'm not a knickknack-y person, but I do love having this space to put small things I love.
Isn't that shelf beautiful?! The tulip broke off in the storm last night. The print is titled Fashion Show by the Ethiopian artist, Zerihun Seyoum. In the shadow box is an antique spoon rest. I do enjoy a good spot of tea from time to time.
Cupcakes from our wedding.
Living Room
Print from Kenya. My dad made the frame out of cherry wood. The flowered candle holders are from our honeymoon in Costa Rica. The marble elephant is from India.
Changing Room (I wish I had something lovelier to call it)
Silhouette from A Happy Exchange. Brad made the cork board.

Girls' Bedroom
Chinese art from my years working for an international adoption agency.
Chinese lanterns instead of a mobile.

So many great photos! Have a super week.
I love the Chinese lantern "mobiles"!
My dad is an artist (and an architect), and I am proud to say I don't have any stock prints hanging on my walls. Of course for many years that meant I had some pretty bare walls, as we filled them bit by bit. :)
Since the girls were born, though, part of me wishes I had more wall space...as I could hang pictures of them in every room. :)
Beautiful! Thank you for sharing these pictures. I love that you have decorated with items that have special meaning to you. Walls may build a house but it's stuff like this that builds a home. :-)
What a wonderful thing your Dad made you...from a tree outside your childhood room. It almost made me cry. I love the cork board too. Next on my project list.
Just came across your blog and wanted to say hi :)
Your twins are ADORABLE!!!!!!
I have twin girls too, Grace & Faith.
Love all the decorations you posted and how special or their meaning to you :)
Adorable little twins! And I LOVE everything you took photos of in your house!! Happy WW!
I love the twins' photo on the blog cover...holding the blush brush as if to say Huh?! too cute!
The shelf from the tree is so meaningful. I love that stuff. And as an IVF mom, I too, plaster my house with tons of big awesome photos of the kids.
